4th ICPCN International Conference 2025

Our 4th international conference took place from the 12th – 15th November 2025 in Manila, Philippines.

Working in partnership with The Ruth Foundation, the conference brought together people from around the world and from all professions working with children with life-threatening and life-limiting conditions. It encouraged the exchange of knowledge, new and innovative ideas, research and experiences. With a packed programme of speakers, workshops and poster presentations, the conference programme provided rich opportunities for professional development and networking.

3rd ICPCN International Conference 2018

Our 3rd international conference took place from the 30th May – 2nd June 2018 in Durban, South Africa.

The conference—inspiration, innovation and integration—brought together 250 participants from 41 countries and was held in conjunction with local partners – Umduduzi Hospice Care for Children, Palliative Treatment for Children South Africa (Patch SA) and the Hospice and Palliative Care Association of South Africa. It built on national and global developments in palliative care such as its inclusion in Universal health coverage (UHC), the Lancet Commission report on pain and palliative care and the sustainable development goals (SDGs) and aimed to raise the profile of children’s palliative care in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) and nationally.

2nd ICPCN International Conference 2016

The International Children’s Palliative Care Network held its second international conference on children’s palliative care in Buenos Aires, Argentina, from the 18th–21st May 2016. The conference, held at the paediatric teaching and training centre of the Argentine Society of Paediatrics in Buenos Aires, brought together 410 participants from 40 countries.  

The theme of the conference was ‘Children’s Palliative Care…. Now!’ emphasising the need for palliative care for children now, as the future will be too late for many of them. Six pre-conference workshops were held, addressing issues connected to pain assessment and management, adolescent palliative care, ethics and decision-making, developing programmes, the basics of children’s palliative care, and hidden aspects of children’s palliative care.

1st ICPCN International Conference 2014

On the 10th – 12th February 2014, Tata Memorial Centre and ICPCN hosted the first Children’s Palliative Care Conference in Mumbai, India, bringing together 235 participants from 38 countries. The theme was “Children’s Palliative Care – From Ideas to Action”. The event fostered exchanges on clinical care, research, education, advocacy, and spirituality in paediatric palliative care. It concluded with the ICPCN Mumbai Declaration, calling for improved access to quality CPC worldwide. Participants gained knowledge, built collaborations, and formed lasting friendships. The conference strengthened the global CPC community and reinforced our commitment to advancing compassionate, high-quality care for all children in need.
