Uganda Children’s Palliative Care Nurses Fellowship Programme
The Uganda Children’s Palliative Care Nurses Leadership Fellowship Programme (UCPCNLFP) aims to develop leaders within children’s palliative care in Uganda. Leadership is important in the ongoing development of children’s palliative care within Uganda. It is hoped that by developing children’s palliative care nurse leaders, we will further support the ongoing development and leadership of children’s palliative care, and ultimately improve the quality of life of those children needing palliative care and their families.
The UCPCNLFP is focused on the development of nurse leaders from different parts of the country, different types of organisations, and working with children in the hospital and community settings as well as nurse trainers. It is being run by a partnership between the University of Edinburgh, the Palliative care Education and Research Consortium (PcERC) and the International Children’s Palliative Care Network (ICPCN), funded through a grant by the Burdett Trust for Nursing.
